SAMHSA are a 24/365 service that provides information for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Available in both Spanish and English.

While trying to tackle these matters, one of the most important and impactful actions you can take is educating yourself about LGBTQ+ issues so you can have meaningful discussions with others and spread awareness about them. Do your research. Here are a few sources that explain anti-LGBTQ+ policies, the state of LGTQ+ rights in other countries, and statistics about topics that affect the LGBTQ+ community.

Contact Government Officials

The only way to make significant change is to reform preexisting laws and create new ones that protect LGBTQ+ individuals' rights against hate crimes, discrimination, etc. We must contact our government officials and demand change by emailing, calling, or writing them a letter.

Petitons to Sign

Please take a few moments out of your day to sign petitons and ensure ensure that the LGBTQ+ issues are seen by government representatives and our concerns and demands are met.

Here are some links containing caards with petitions to secure health care accessibility to LGBTQ+ individuals, including, but are not limited to: the opposition of the dismantling precedents of importance such as Roe v. Wade, banning discrimination by healthcare professionals, and reinstating laws that protect discrimination and targeting towards people in the community.

If you are currently financially able, we hope you might consider financially supporting LGBTQ+ NPOs and organizations. They fund and support marginalized and vulnerable members of the community, such as people who have been affected by HIV, individuals who are homeless, trans people of color, etc.
